January 17th: Paul Dunlea’s Crane Lane Quartet
We’re delighted to welcome back Cork trombonist Paul Dunlea to Scott’s Jazz Club in this cross-border ensemble. Our co-founder and pianist Scott Flanigan plays each week with this particular line up in Crane Lane, Cork, as one of Ireland’s longest running jam sessions, and we’re looking forward to welcome this Cork-based band up to Belfast.
Joining Paul and Scott will be two of Cork’s busiest musicians: Davie Ryan, who is a drummer with extensive experience both nationally and internationally as a touring & recording musician, producer, and educator in a range of diverse genres including pop, jazz, folk, rock, world and traditional music. He has wide-ranging expertise as a recording artist and has worked with many renowned studio producers both in Ireland and abroad. Davie has his own recording studio (Under The Umbrella) in Cork City, Ireland where he provides both remote and in-person recording/production; and on bass a recent graduate of the MTU Cork School Of Music Michael Riordan, who is the bassist in the up-and-coming Cork-based ensemble Projective.
This band brings musical fireworks to audiences in Cork weekly with jazz standards alongside jazz arrangements of songs by Paul McCartney, Sting and others.

January 24th: Ronnie Greer/Darren Beckett/Scott Flanigan
For the first time in this format, three of Northern Ireland’s finest musicians combine to form a bluesy-drenched jazz supergroup. Guitarist Ronnie Greer stands as a celebrated figure in the Northern Ireland music landscape. Esteemed for his mastery of blues and jazz guitar, Ronnie's artistry has infused vigor into numerous esteemed bands. His tenure with the renowned Jim Daly Blues Band is particularly noted, amongst his many collaborations. The quintessence of Ronnie's sound is a fusion of classic Chicago blues with a twist; a melodic conversation between robust blues riffs and the funky slide guitar reminiscent of Little Feat, all underscored by a vibrant rhythm section.
Joining Ronnie will be one of Northern Ireland’s most celebrated musical exports, drummer Darren Beckett. Darren began his career early when, as a teenager, he was awarded the prestigious Bass Ireland Award. Shortly thereafter, Beckett headed off to New York City to study jazz and claim New York as his residence for a period of 21 years. During this time Beckett earned a Masters in Jazz Performance and he also graced some of the most prestigious venues in the world as a performer including Carnegie Hall in New York City and Royal Albert Hall in London. Additionally, he has performed/recorded on over 50 albums with such well known artists as Lee Konitz, James Williams, Brandon Flowers, Madeleine Peyroux, Kenny Wheeler, and, George Colligan. Beckett has also toured with Lauryn Hill (The Fugees), English soul singer James Hunter, and he regularly appears with Brandon Flowers (formerly of The Killers).
Our co-founder Scott Flanigan will be the other third of this exciting trio on Hammond organ. Scott Flanigan is one of the foremost keyboard players on the Irish jazz scene. He performs regularly across the United Kingdom, Ireland, France and Germany, and has recently performed with Van Morrison, the Ulster Orchestra, Larry Coryell, Jean Toussaint, Jim Mullen and Linley Hamilton. As a leader, Scott successfully tours his own contemporary piano trio, as well as a hard-swinging organ quartet.

March 28th: Obradovic-Tixier Duo
The internationally award-winning Obradovic-Tixier Duo makes a tidal-wave splash performing around the globe. “The music”, says Croatian drummer Lada Obradovic, “is a painting of life, a vision of the world, a scream transcending the sounds of the universe.” Even this preface can’t fully prepare us for the exhilarating journey of this program, in which Obradovic’s rhythmic changes come fast precise, and surprising — slowing down only to let French pianist David Tixier’s enchanting notes, in turn, wash the stage in vivid and bittersweet color. Reunited for their 2024 EP The Only Thing That Matters, this virtuosic pair has what it takes to win over every listener, from newcomers to committed jazz heads in this unmissable performance.
